Reports and parent consultations.
Four ways we keep you close to your son’s progress.
Written reports
Every mid-term and end-of-term break, a written report is provided to all learners whose school fees have been cleared.
Targets
At the start of each year or term, we set targets based on each student’s strengths and areas needing further development.
Parent–teacher consultations
In first and second terms, parents meet their child’s teachers face to face and look through their books.
Weekday visits
Parents can plan with the school to visit on any weekday to check on academic progress, by booking an appointment.
Parent and guardian undertakings.
Absence
Absence from school requires a letter of explanation from a parent or guardian, submitted on the day the student returns to school.
Medical
Non-participation in sports requires a doctor’s certificate. Medical dietary needs require a letter from a doctor at a well-known hospital.
Searches and testing
Parents authorise the school to carry out searches for stolen property, and alcohol and drug testing at the cost of the parent.
Photos and videos
We share photos and videos of school activities on noticeboards, social media, the website and newsletter. Please inform the school in writing of any objection.
A culture of positive discipline.
As our school motto goes, the school believes in fostering a culture of good behaviour and discipline. Our high standards of behaviour come from a whole-school policy of positive discipline, where we consistently encourage and motivate good behaviour.
If a student misbehaves, a full inquiry is held and, depending on the level of offence, the student is punished appropriately according to school policy. Students must realise that there are consequences to negative behaviour.
Rules and consequences.
The consequence for each rule is shown beneath it.

Common sense should always prevail in all circumstances.
If, upon inquiry, a student is found to have committed a grave offence, to have been wilfully or persistently disobedient or lazy, or to be academically completely unsuited, the school may remove or expel the student or request the parent to remove him. The school management reserves the right to require the immediate withdrawal of any student. There is no school fees refund for students who are expelled from Anestar Group of Schools – AVBSS Lanet.
